General waste and recycling should be disposed of in the garbage rooms located throughout the buildings. In each room, there is a garbage chute for general waste and a 240 litre bin for recycling.
All waste placed in garbage chutes must be securely bagged, not loose. Do not place anything in the chute which may block or contaminate it. Residents may be charged the cost of clearing or cleaning a chute.
DO NOT place the following down the chute:
- Any breakable items (i.e. glass)
- Unwrapped dust
- Hazardous materials
- Recyclable materials
- Polystyrene packaging
The disposal of waste that is not appropriate for the garbage chutes, or does not fit into the garbage chutes, remains the responsibility of the resident.
